Garvan's research discoveries hold enormous implications for both the Australian and International scientific community, as well as the public, hence we place a great deal of importance on the communication of our research activities. This includes publication of our findings in scientific journals, presentation of data at international conferences, symposia and workshops, and dissemination of breakthroughs via the media.

Garvan has a world-class publication record, both in number and journal impact factor. In 2006, Garvan scientists produced 140 publications, namely peer-reviewed articles in international journals, but which also included book chapters, conference proceedings, letters and educational articles.
