Congratulations to Scott Youlten who won the first prize at the UNSW Faculty of Medicine Three Minute Thesis Competition held on 3 July.

Scott is a second year PhD student supervised by Prof Peter Croucher from the Bone Biology Laboratory. In his presentation, titled “Skeletal Marriage Counselling”, Scott explained how his research investigates gene activity changes in bone disease in order to better understand their role and uncover new approaches to strengthen the skeleton.

As a Faculty finalist, Scott will be eligible to compete in the UNSW Interfaculty Final on 23 September.
