Biography

Dr Wu completed his PhD at Centre for Bioinformatics, Peking University in 2006. Then he joined the Institute of Biomedicine, University of Helsinki as a postdoctoral fellow, where he developed several novel computational approaches in protein-protein interaction network analysis (PINA), SUMO2 substrates targeting motifs identification (SUMOFI), and a web-based data analysis pipeline (WebLab).

Then Dr Wu moved to the Garvan Institute of Medical Research as the Head of Cancer Bioinformatics Group in August 2010. His research interest has 2 wings: 1) Understand the complex functional network underlying cancer and help development of novel diagnostics and therapeutics, through applying cutting edging computational tools to analyze/model/integrate large-scale genomic and proteomic data; 2) Develop advanced bioinformatics methods, tools, and databases to facilitate these analyses.

Dr Wu is an editorial board member of Journal of Investigative Genomics, and has been invited as a reviewer for for 7 high-caliber international peer-review journals in his field, and 4 national/international funding bodies.
