Biography
Dr Nguyen obtained his PhD in osteoporosis under the supervision of Prof Tuan Nguyen and Prof John Eisman. Dr Nguyen also has a strong background in epidemiological methods and Bayesian biostatistics. With these skills, he has made substantial contributions to the success of the Dubbo Osteoporosis Epidemiology Study. He is a productive researcher, who has published 57 original papers and 5 reviews / book chapters during the past 7 years. Dr. Nguyen is a key person behind the development of the Garvan nomograms for predicting fracture risk, which are now applied worldwide.
Dr Nguyen has given presentations in various international and national meetings. He has been invited to and served on editorial board of BMC Musculoskeleton Disorders. He is a regular reviewer for 10 journals, including JBMR, Osteoporosis International, Bone, BMC, JCD, MJA, QJM, Eur J Epidemol, Clin Therapeutics, J Clin Rheum.
