We are keen to offer opportunities for talented people from around the world to come and work with our researchers. We currently have people from 71 countries working here.
We are constantly in touch with our postdoctoral community to support workshops for leadership and management skills development.
Women in Leadership
A forum for senior women scientists encourages access to networking and mentoring opportunities from other women in the research and business community who are leaders in their fields.
Young Garvan Award
This award is open to all researchers at Garvan and comes with a $50,000 fellowship to support their research.
Garvan partners with UNSW Sydney and provides a learning and teaching environment for PhD students.
Due to our affiliation with UNSW Australia, opportunities for acknowledging and rewarding individuals who actively participate in research and/or teaching activities across the Garvan and university campuses are available.
Staff are encouraged to attend a range of presentations where Garvan postdocs, PhD students and invited national and international speakers present their research findings. Foremost amongst these is our Leaders In Science and Society seminar series.
Conference leave is available to staff and students to attend and present at national and international conferences.
Annual Postdoc Symposium
An annual one-day conference is held for postdoctoral researchers working at Garvan, one of many ways collaboration is fostered between our research divisions. Prizes are awarded for best presenter, best poster and best question.
