Associate Professor Kohonen-Corish has a 21-year track record of discovery in cancer research, including the genetic basis of colon cancer, translational research in colon and lung tumours and the development of mouse models. She completed her PhD in Human Genetics at John Curtin School of Medical Research where she then established a new cancer genetics laboratory to study the genetic basis of Lynch Syndrome. She has been at Garvan Institute since 2002 and is currently the Head of colon and lung cancer research in the Kinghorn Cancer Centre.
