Dr Saskia Reibe-Pal

Research Officer

After finishing her undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Cologne, Germany, Saskia completed her PhD thesis at the Institute of Forensic Medicine (University of Bonn, Germany). She worked on time-since-death estimations based on insects developing on human remains and built a new computer model for calculating larval age.

In 2013 she joined the laboratory of Prof Mark Febbraio at the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne. Working as a volunteer at first, she later worked part-time as Lab Manager and Research Assistant.

At the same time Saskia also joined the Systems Biology Institute Australia at Monash University as post-doctoral affiliate to improve her skills in data analysis and bioinformatics.

In 2015 she followed Prof Febbraio to the Garvan Institute to pursue a role as a Bioinformatician in his new Lab.
