Dr Christopher Sundling
Christopher completed his bachelor and master of science, majoring in medical biology, at Linköpings University, Sweden. During his master year he participated in an exchanged program with the Univeristy of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, where he studied bacterial and viral pathogenesis. Christopher’s masters project was conducted in the lab of Prof Gunilla Karlsson Hedestam at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, where he also later conducted his PhD studies.
Christopher completed his PhD in 2012 and received the Sven Gard stipend for his impressive thesis work in the field of virology and immunology, investigating B cell responses to viral glycoproteins following immunisation of non-human primates. He was also awarded the Dimitris N. Chorafas stipend for promising young researchers in the field of life science, being the only nominee from Karolinska Institutet.
Currently, Christopher holds an International postdoc fellowship from the Swedish research council to work in the group of Prof Robert Brink, characterising long-lived B cell responses in mice.
