Teaching and Learning with Molecular Animation: A professional learning intensive for secondary biology teachers

This four-day program is offered in partnership with expert educators from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel as part of a study exploring the use of video editing as a pedagogical tool. Teachers will develop skills in planning and editing videos, access curriculum-aligned molecular animations and gain insights into research developments in genetics and genomics.

Genetic Technologies, DNA and Disease

Teachers of HSC Biology are invited to join us to update their knowledge about medical applications of genetic technologies, discuss approaches to teaching genetics within meaningful contexts, and explore resources designed specifically for the new syllabus. These resources cover content areas including: DNA sequencing and profiling; genetic variation and disease; and social and ethical considerations of genetic technologies. They can be used to support a depth study or integrated into modules 5, 6 and/or 8.
