Jayden Fan
Dr. Jayden (Jianan) Fan is a Research Officer at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, where he sits at the forefront of artificial intelligence, computational biology, and medicine. His work focuses on developing next-generation machine learning and big data analytics approaches to accelerate automated biomarker discovery and drive precision medicine. Jayden’s current research leverages multi-omics data, integrating both gene expression and chromatin accessibility, to build cutting-edge deep learning models that dissect the effects of genetic variants on single-cell regulation and complex traits. By bridging computational innovation with biological insight, his work aims to uncover fundamental mechanisms of disease and inform new strategies for personalized therapeutics.
Jayden obtained his PhD in 2025 from The University of Sydney, where he worked with Prof. Weidong (Tom) Cai in the field of AI-empowered biomedical image analysis. Through collaborations with world leading institutes, including Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, University of Maryland, Microsoft, and Microscopy Australia, he has made pioneering contributions to advancing AI applications in biomedicine and healthcare. His work has produced significant research outputs published in top tier journals and presented at leading international conferences.
