Jonathan Nguyen

Jonathan Nguyen is the Program Manager for the Genomics and Inherited Disease Program, where he drives the programs success through strategic development, ethics and governance submissions, stakeholder communications, laboratory management, and the implementation of the program’s flagship initiative, the Genomics and Rare Disease Registry.

Jonathan holds a Master’s degree in Orthoptics and has practiced at renowned institutions, including the Sydney Eye Hospital and the Save Sight Institute. His expertise in ophthalmology led him into the field of clinical trials, where he focused on advancing newly developed ophthalmic treatments for Australian patients. This work later inspired him to establish the Academic Research Unit.

He is passionate about advancing Genomic and Ophthalmic research, and enhancing the Australian healthcare system, hoping to improve access to quality healthcare for all Australians.
