
Lucas Mitchell
Lucas Mitchell is an NHMRC-funded PhD candidate in the Genomics and Inherited Disease Program, supervised by A/Prof Jodie Ingles and A/Prof Owen Siggs. His research focuses on rare diseases and advancing genomic diagnoses through a participant-led rare disease registry. Before commencing his PhD, Lucas completed a Master of Genetic Counselling at the University of Technology Sydney in 2020. He then worked as a Research Genetic Counsellor at the Garvan Institute, returning genetic research results, providing genetic counselling, and contributing to major initiatives including My Research Results, DNA Screen, and the PRiMO trial.
