Imaging and Inflammation Group

Our research focus is inflammation, an important yet poorly understood component of common age-related diseases, as well as rarer immune disorders.

To aid the development of novel and more effective therapies, we examine the mechanisms that regulate inflammation in healthy tissues, and that drive an excessive and persistent inflammatory response during disease.

We use a variety of advanced microscopy and imaging techniques – including intravital two-photon imaging – and novel mouse models of the autoinflammatory disease mevalonate kinase deficiency, to study the molecular and cellular drivers of excessive inflammation. Our ultimate goal is the development of new approaches to control and prevent unwarranted inflammatory responses.
